​It’s already February, and the tech world is moving pretty fast with the latest innovations and enhancements for 2015 coming in hot, and in an effort to make sure no one is left in the dark (even with ole Eskom’s intervention), weFix is bringing you the week’s biggest tech news you can’t afford to miss. Samsung’s preparing something big: Firstly, Samsung is already making waves with it’s much-rumoured yet-to-be announced phones and tablets. The South Korean tech giant is set to unveil a slew of new flagship devices, as the invitations to its latest Unpacked event have been sent out; so we’ll have to see what emerges come 1 March at 7:30PM CAT. Apple showcases its Watch options: While it’s still a little while until Apple Watch launches across the globe, the company, via its website, has revealed 34 different versions and nine default watch faces with millions of customisations. A new image has been leaked that could give us the clearest idea yet of what Samsung has in store for its upcoming Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge smartphones.Check out more on the story here. HTC One M9 - rumoured details roll in: While we don’t know anything for sure about the HTC One M9, it’s going to be a massive deal. Mooted specs include: a QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a waterproof body and more megapixels in the camera, making the One M9 one of the highest-specification phones on the market. Expect official details on 1 March. Check out more on the story here. Pixie could be a lifesaver: Ever lost your smartphone? Or forgot your laptop charger at home, only to realize you desperately need a charge when you arrive at a meeting? Pixie wants to help you keep track of exactly where your stuff is. It lets you tag your valuables, turn them into a connected network and helps you find them through an app with an augmented reality interface. Check out more on the story here. Google invests in private photo-sharing app: Remember those whispers that Google would detach its photo service from its social networking? It just took steps that could make this split a practical reality. The search firm has snatched up the creators of Odysee, a mobile app that can automatically share photos in private as well as send your phone snapshots to your PC at home. Lollipop update lands for HTC M8 users: There’s a big update being pushed out over the air to HTC’s One M8 handsets all over the world at the moment, which takes the operating system from the frankly ancient Android 4 series to the cutting edge and latest version 5 (Lollipop). And just for once, South Africans were among the first in line to get the patch, which should have landed at the end of last week.Check out the full story here. Swatch debuting a smart watch in the next few months: Smartwatches are the new sunglasses, and every company and their dog is getting in on the action and next on the list is Swiss watch giant Swatch. The company plans to introduce a smartwatch just in time to compete with Apple’s introduction and Swatch’s CEO said the watch will connect to the Internet and all of that, but best of all - it won’t need to be charged (like, ever).
